When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it’s your world for a moment.<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

This morning I hiked up Knox Mountain with my pup, Pablo and my daughter, Pippi.<\/p>\n

It was a very hot hike straight up the South face of the mountain and Pippi was a trooper.\t\t\t<\/i>\n\t\t\t\t I taught Pablo to drink water from my cupped palm so it’s easy to share a water bottle with him.<\/p>\n

We stopped to rest near the top when I spotted the first Mariposa Lily of the season. I’ve been waiting to see this flower all year! They are rare on the mountain, so beautiful, and bloom later than most of the other wild flowers. They like it hot and dry to bloom. There were three other lilies ready to open at the spot where we paused.<\/p>\n

The Mariposa is the most exquisite lily and worth the wait!<\/p>\n
