This weekend is triple booked.<\/strong> My daughter’s Sweet 16 Birthday party, a concert: Journey & Loverboy<\/em>, a Choral Christmas Concert.<\/p>\n

Nothing fazes my eldest daughter Mist, the one turning 16. Went to a movie with her last night: Life of Pi.<\/em> I cowered my head in horror a few times but she didn’t flinch.<\/strong> The rating was General–seriously? The animal on animal violence was horrible. So glad I didn’t bring Pip. She’s have been scarred for life! I ate too many peanut M&Ms.<\/strong> I usually share a bag at movies with Peter. Mist just doesn’t eat as fast or as many as her Dad–thus, every time I reached in the bag, there seemed to be tons! I ate too much and felt ill. Okay, serves me right, I was greedy.<\/p>\n

Mist’s Birthday party is tomorrow night, same time as the Journey\/Loverboy <\/em>concert. Either Peter or I will take Tabs (she is going because she feels a special connection to Journey and their music–she plays their songs on piano and sang Don’t Stop Believing<\/em> at her The Next Star<\/a> audition) \u00a0while the other one stays home to supervise the Sweet 16 party…more like the Macabre 16 party<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Mist wants a horror theme.<\/strong> The night was to start out with a dark hike through the forest on the back of our mountain–a scavenger hunt. The party would look for clues on trees with the help of flash lights. This alone is quite the feat as our mountain has many cliffs. But my unflinching daughter wanted more excitement.<\/strong> She decided to ask her 19-year-old 6’4″ cousin to dress in a suit and mask (as a character named Slender<\/a>) and stalk the party guests on the mountain.<\/p>\n

A group of teenage girls, on a mountain<\/strong>, in a dark forest, being stalked…hysteria would set, darkness, cliffs, wild animals<\/strong> (coyotes, bears cougars are all possibilities this time of year). NO. Not going to happen.<\/em><\/strong> I told her I am responsible for all of the guests and I cannot take the risk.<\/p>\n

I said I’d do a scavenger hunt with flashlights (and me accompanying the group) but no stalker. I did this on a birthday of her’s once before. I accompanied a group of 12-year-old girls up the mountain in the dark, looking for clues<\/strong> to the missing puffles (A Club Penguin party theme). It was a great success. Not sure if she still wants the scavenger hunt.<\/p>\n

What has been decided on is a Japanese Horror movie sleep over party<\/strong>. They’ll dine on Japanese food and appetizers and watch the horror flicks.<\/p>\n

Tonight I’m making the ice cream cake<\/strong>\u00a0and rushing across the lake for Tabs’ Choral concert.<\/p>\n

One creepy weekend ahead. Wish me luck…<\/p>\n
