The scale of the trees, intensity of the twisty vines and lush ferns, is transcendental. Gondwana rainforests are some of my favourite rainforests on Earth. <strong>The forests are ancient, left over from when the southern hemisphere (South America, Africa, Arabia, Madagascar, India, Australia, and Antarctica) were all \u00a0attached and part of the giant continent of Gondwana.\u00a0<\/strong>They are a part of the Australian World Heritage protected areas. At times, the forests are rich with spicy, woody mists and at other times, the distinct smell of wild koala makes me stop and scan the thick canopies for the owner of the musky-eucalyptus
