You know your kids have compassion when<\/strong> they spend their recess saving worms from drowning in the wet school yard.\u00a0You know your kids are Canadian when<\/strong> they decide the two large worms are lesbian mothers<\/strong> and the short worm their baby.To make the story even sweeter, they name each of the adult mother worms after their own human moms (me and my daughter’s friend’s mother).<\/p>\n

The good news is that there is a lesbian mother worm out there (named after me), alive and well thanks to my darling daughter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

My daughter and her friend have not been raised by lesbian moms, but they have been raised in Canada where it is common knowledge that some adults are gay and others are straight<\/strong> and any sex can marry whom ever they choose. This is an example of a modern society getting it right,<\/strong> teaching its youth compassion and empathy, which in turn creates a safer society<\/strong>\u00a0for us all.<\/strong>

Compassion<\/strong> and\u00a0empathy<\/a>\u00a0are things that can be taught to every child.\u00a0\"IMG_6472\"<\/a><\/p>\n
