True women characters began appearing frequently in literature by the nineteenth century, in works written by the Bront\u00eb sisters, Louisa May Alcott, Henrik Ibsen and Mark Twain (to name a very few).<\/p>\n<p>Despite what is happening in society on a political level, I am thankful for the writers (and artists) who continue to speak the truth about women, no matter what.
