A young red kangaroo&#8211;he was a tired little fella when we visited him.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I am always wary of visiting any type of zoo in general for fear I will find animals in despair and neglect. Kangaroo Creek Farm is a small &#8220;petting zoo&#8221; of exotic (to Canada) animals that is a twenty-minute drive from my home and my first visit was a pleasant surprise.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_8854\" class=\"thumbnail wp-caption aligncenter\" style=\"width: 495px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mixhart.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/IMG_1521_Fotor.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8854\" src=\"http:\/\/mixhart.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/IMG_1521_Fotor-912x1024.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_1521_Fotor\" width=\"495\" height=\"556\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.mixhart.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/IMG_1521_Fotor-912x1024.jpg 912w, https:\/\/blog.mixhart.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/IMG_1521_Fotor-267x300.jpg 267w, https:\/\/blog.mixhart.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/IMG_1521_Fotor.jpg 1140w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 495px) 100vw, 495px\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"caption wp-caption-text\"><strong>This little albino roo was so inquisitive and friendly.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The animals are calm, content and friendly and the grounds green and shady. Visitors are free to walk around the grounds and pet the animals (under the watchful eyes of farm employees). I remarked to one of the employees how calm the young red kangaroo was as my daughter and friend petted his back. There truly is nothing as beautiful as the precious love between a mom and her baby. #000000;\">Every moment that we are experience and intimate connection with another creature, we need to stop and reflect:<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em><strong>W<a href=\"http:\/\/mixhart.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/IMG_1508_Fotor.jpg\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">e must treat all Earth&#8217;s creatures with the basic respect that they are 655px) 100vw, 655px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, many humans do not value the lives of other creatures.<\/p>\n<p>In my home province of British Columbia, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vancouversun.com\/technology\/conservation+officers+criticized+cavalier+killing+predators\/11209072\/story.html\">in the last four years 1872 black bears, 352 cougars and 72 Grizzly bears have been killed<\/a> by government-employed &#8220;BC conservation officers.&#8221; We do not know how many of these animals were cubs and kittens.<\/p>\n<p>Humans deforest their habitat and then kill the displaced creatures if they come into contact with humans.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>The more time we spend with other creatures, and get to know them, the more we understand we are one and the same.
