Pip and I Friday night at the Cactus Club

Hopping weekend to date. Friday night we went out to the Cactus Club for supper and then rented movies. Saturday I worked in the AM and Peter took girls to the Bread Co. for coffee. Then Peter worked and MIst and Tabs had Maddi and Makaila over. Tabs and Makaila played so well with Pip, she was in her element with the big girls. Then we had make your own pizzas and I taught PJ how to make the pizza dough in the food processor, so he can do it each Saturday that I am at class.

Peter and I went out to the movie “Appaloosa.” Not bad. The ending was a little weak in my opinion. But I really like Viggo Mortensen. He played the saintly gunman in this flick.
And this Am, an early hike for Peter and I, up, up up to where they are blasting out a new development in the mountains. So sad to see the pristine wilderness destroyed for monster houses yet again. Saw a kestrel.
Now it is time for me to make whole grain waffles when PJ arrives with the milk, strawberries and whip cream. And I have made the most delicious apple-cinnamon compote, from my parents apples, to serve on top–gotta brag about this as I so often to do not make anything but continental breakfasts–served with the blow of a train whistle.
Later it is the big family clean up and then Tabs soccer jamboree and party and then rush back and climb the mountain for family pictures on the top of the mountain. Tabs school offers this as a fund raiser. This year we lucked out and get ours taken outside.
The new National Geographic article about Neanderthals is amazing. Every time I read about them I think I need to do my PHD in Anthropology.
