From Primal Longing to Primal Belonging

posted in: Creative 0

We are domesticated, humans and dogs, removed from our natural eco systems. We live domesticated lives. Over time we have become disconnected from our true, ancient selves. We experience an undetermined ache,  feeling unmoored, adrift in the chaotic modern world. We are equally, over and underwhelmed by the visual and audio noise, hazy air and murky waters, a primal longing. When we walk in nature, we seek to walk in the footsteps of our ancient self. When walk our dog, we seek to meet again our ancient comrade, the wild wolf. The earthy, sweet scent of bark warmed in the sun, brilliant forest colours, fill us with a deep peace…a sense of primal belonging.
