Hiking King’s Road, Norway

posted in: Europe, Narrative, Travel 0

King’s Road road leads to the incredible, twelfth century Borgund Stave Church. Discovering my ancient viking roots has been a dream adventure. Scandinavian culture has intrigued me since childhood. There was something about the culture that resonated with me at a very young age. Astrid Lindgren’s Pippi Longstoking, Susan Meyer’s Cabin on the Fjord are a few of my favourite childhood stories. I was thrilled to find that my DNA is about a quarter Scandanavian–most likely Viking. Exploring Norway and Sweden proved to be satisfying for my childhood self. I feel at home in Scandinavia–must be DNA memory.
