Two black widows in my life. One has decided to tuck herself in my garage for the fall. Yes, I do feel bad for her because relocating her means I put her out in the cold. And the second one was frightening. Pip went outside to play and brought in the box from our Spiderman water slide to show me. As I took it from her, a big black widow crawled out from it. I promptly threw it outside and then dumped it as the spider crept away. Jeepers, we are spider heaven up on this mountain.
This early AM(dark outside still) on the way to the gym, I spotted an unusual looking dog loping at the side of the road. I recognized it from a poster I’d seen for a lost dog–white retriever with one black ear. So I got Peter to stop while I got out and called it. But it freaked and ran into the bush. And dang it if I can’t recall where I even read the lost dog sign. So that is one lost pup who is no closer to being found.
Still no sign of the moon out here in Kelowna…
Tot class was better. Yes, enjoyed the company of the other women. Pip loves it, especially dancing with me at the end of it. And then we did hot lunch for Tabs class.
So it is Friday night and Mist is at a friends so Peter, me and the littlest gals will do something grand…hmm…maybe Joey’s and movies??? Or an evening hike? Or better still that pumpkin pie blizzard from DQ for supper–my favorite flavour. And it’s only available this month.
Last night I made an apple crisp with apples my dad picked for us from my parents trees in Kamloops. Then we all sat around the fireplace eating our hot dessert with ice cream on top and telling our own personal wilderness survival stories. Why were so many of mine all related to a 40 below walk through prairie blizzards, in broken snow boots? Mist had a few to add and PJ too (little 6 year old boy, 40 below, 200 newspapers to deliver in the dark…you get the picture). Man–I totally forgot the jeep crash into the flooding Yukon River or the Hover Craft tip-over in the same river—now those really were life and death.

I think you should take the pictures of your face from a bit farther away so your whole head is showing. Just an opinion and not designed to hurt feelings. I find the closness a tiny bit distorting.
Also I thought someone in your family found the pumpkin pie blizzard too rich and couldn’t finish it. was it you????

Thanks for the tips mom. The pics may be distorting, but I like the distortion. And no bilzzards last night…we went out instead.
